DJ ANTHONY PAPPA - HEADLINING

Long renowned for his passion, dedication, flawless mixing and marathon DJ sets, Anthony Pappa has just been voted 75th in the world's best DJs by Dash Berlin World (ahead of current superstars such as Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Afrojack and Arman van Helden). His unique trademark-defining “track selection, journey build, & precision mixing skills” coupled with his overall way of making things just 'pop' has seen him become one of Australia’s most successful DJ exports.

Originally from Melbourne, Anthony's DJ career began at the age of 15 where he won the DMC mixing championship. At the age of 20, frustrated by being halfway around the world from where the music he loved was happening, he moved to London to follow his passion.

It wasn’t long before Anthony's talents were picked up by a core group of the UK’s biggest DJ’s who together forged a strong squad of players who would shape the sounds which have been constantly evolving and pushing boundaries over the last two decades.

With a history of 30 years in the electronic music industry (clubs, festivals, parties) and having world renowned B4Bookings Agency by his side, as well as standing alongside fellow DJs the likes of Davide Squillace, Marco Carola, Slam & Paco Osuna to name but a few, Anthony's forged constant touring & success throughout South America, Mexico, Europe & Australia. In one year alone, his touring schedule included just over 100 performances at various clubs and festivals all over the globe. He never disappoints his fans.

Alongside DJing & continuing to build a reputation for his un-parallel mixing skills, set programming plus the ability to adapt to whatever club environment he finds himself in, Production was & is still is key to Anthony’s success. His musical knowledge of chord structures and melodic phrasing ensures everything is mixed in key and every track is seamlessly blended & mixed together.

Key tracks produced include his massive collaboration with King Unique called “Vamoosh” released on Bedrock and long time classic Freefall “Skydive” on Stress Records which was UK/European number 1 hit single in the charts.

With numerous club anthem singles, remixes plus 6 mix compilations (2 at 200,000 + in sales) he's been released on labels including Sony/BMG, Platipus Records, System Recordings, EQ (Grey), Darkbeat Recordings ‘Darkbeat 10th Anniversary Collection’ and most notably on Boxed Global Underground Nubreed series.

Anthony has mixed compilations for Renaissance and was the first DJ to be selected for the Global Underground Nu Breed series which saw him play over 70 cities around the world and amass sales of over 50,000 copies of the release. He's also created mixes for the cover mount CD for DJ Mag’s coveted Top 100 DJ’s edition receiving high praise from all the big hitters and industry professionals alike.

Scott began his DJ'ing career at the age of 18, and his first job was at the infamous VM's on Commercial Road in Prahran. He was in love from the first moment when he heard house and trance music and the beats and sounds of electronic music. He spent every week listening to many of Melbourne's top DJs including Jason Prior, Queen Martine, Sean Read and Tristan Mason.

He started what was to become his biggest hobby (and most expensive habit) - buying records every week. His first was "It's Like That" by Run DMC vs Jason Nevins, and the addiction of vinyl shopping bit him. From VM's Scott started to get to know people around the scene, and started to frequent clubs such as Dome, a club that was to forever shape his DJing future.

Liquid was probably the first and most influential party on Scott. He loved the harder-edged uplifting trance, the amazing lasers and lighting, and also the friendliness of the old school party goers that you don't see today.

From there he got his first Dj'ing gig in Jane's Bar @ the Dome. Looking back now, he laughs thinking about what he was playing (not to mention his mixing skills). From the Dome Scott moved on to do a few private parties before moving to Darwin for work.

In 2003 the boys from Beyond approached Scott and asked him if he would be interested in playing for them at one of their famous leather/fetish parties. Scott jumped at the chance, and became one of their most notable residents.

Red Raw 2005, provided him the opportunity to play at one of Melbourne's premier dance parties alongside the likes of Chris Cox (Thunderpuss) and Wayne G from the UK. Scott then received interest from Sydney (and also Byron Bay) to play Tropical Fruits NYE 2006 and Mardi Gras 2006 which was to become one of the highest points of his DJ career.

From there, it Redemption in Melbourne (one of the city's legendary leather and fetish parties). Other notable events since then have included XTC & Rawhide, where he became a resident.

He's also been a regular at the famous Sircuit bar in Melbourne and more recently at TroughX, WoofClub in both Sydney and Melbourne and the Thick and Juicy parties. Other gigs have included Harbour City Bears (Bear Pit) and then in the USA in Austin Texas at Iron Bear, Beargasm, UNDERbear, Rain on 4th Street, Lanai Rooftop Bar and one of his crowning achievements: playing the famous Kingdom Nightclub.

2015 saw Scott return to Australia for Sydney's Mardi Gras festival where he played the Harbour City Bears UNDERBEAR party and WoofClub.  More recently, he's been the headline guest at Melbourne's POOF DOOF as well as numerous WoofClub parties including "Cellblock" @ RMH on Sept 22
